Chokhi Dhani in Jaipur takes you on a surreal ride on the Rajasthani cuisine and cultural roller coaster. Fun family activities like camel ride, archery and shooting are there for you to enjoy along with… your family of course.
The ambience will take your breath away and will compel you to keep diving into the food even when you are way past your limits. The people there are so hospitable that it’s almost criminal to call them staff members, they just treat you like guests visiting their home.
On any given day you will see performers entertaining guests, you name it magic show, puppet show, fire show, the rope tricks and much more. If you decided to stay there for a night, which by the way is highly recommended, you can soak in the ambience in a much better way. All this makes Chokhi Dhani a must itinerary item for your next trip to Jaipur.
Apart from Rajasthani food, which of course is heavenly, I must again mention the hospitality of the staff. They serve you a Thali full of Rajasthani treats, which creates quite the symphony of flavours. And coax you to eat more than you thought was humanly possible… even by my hefty standards.
My favourite is the dal-batti-churma. The combination is just amazing. The sweetness of the churma, paired with the simplicity of dal and served with batti. Even the most hardcore of carnivores become fans with the first bite.
Once, you are done with the marvel that is DBC (dal-batti-churma). You notice the palak paneer, gatte ki subzi, aloo sabzi and kadhi to eat with chapati. Along with all this, you are also served khichdi full of ghee and sugar to make this Rajasthani Thali complete. Water and Lassi are given in Kullads (small earthen pots) or glasses as well. Don’t miss trying out the colourful turbans.
This culinary rollercoaster of a meal is going to make you fall in love with the Rajasthani culture and food. So, here’s to your visit to Chokhi Dhani soon.
