I love the all-you-can-eat barbecue restaurant category, be it the smell of the charcoal under the grill, or the non-stop onslaught of skewers. Just love it all.
So, if you are a fan of the Barbecue Restaurant category a visit to “A Grill Company” is warranted, especially if you enjoy barbecues, buffets and molecular drinks. Logix City Centre is quickly becoming a treasure trove of eating joints… and today, we are going to “A Grill Company”.
A Grill Company is the latest barbecue restaurant on the block and must say I liked what I say. A big Yellow gate welcomed us, the decor was tasteful and the music was simply amazing. In short, I loved the ambience and would recommend it for the next family visit.
The super experimental starters had more twists than a racy Hollywood thriller. I was surprised with the combinations and awesomeness of the flurry of tastes that accompanied them.
Then came the Molecular trolley stocked with Bhalla Papdi, Nitro Chaat which when paired with nitro frozen yogurt ended up tasting like something really different – recommended BTW. Although, I would have to say that the Nacho Chaat could have and should have been more about the Nachos. Because we all love Nachos.
More experiment dishes were about to hit the table. First up, Crispy Palak Patta Chaat – interesting, Gol Gappas along with injections and test tubes filled with colourful flavoured water, Tricolor Dahi Bhalla Sundae – flavoured spheres with aromatic fumes and much more was awaited. All bold experiments, which came off well.
The spread of the buffet was enormous, unlike other barbecues and grill restaurant. I had a great time figuring out the experiments had been carried out on some of my favourite dishes like Daal Bhati Churma and a range Mughlai delicacies. Dessert counter was pack. Phirni, brownies, hot Gulab Jamuns, fruits and of course ice creams.
Drinks & Grills
Restaurants with an extensive selection of drinks are are my got places in the Delhi heat. The bar was well stocked and again experimental drinks were the norm – Rooafza bunta, they also had jal jeera and regular buntas and alas some of the experiments were totally avoidable.
With all the distractions out of the way, it was time to dive into the grill which was surprisingly limited when compared to the spread of the buffet and starters. The Chefs said he wanted to keep it that way and focus on the quality of grills – I can argue that from both sides (so let me know what you have to say about that).
Although, to be fair the spread of the buffet and starters kind of differentiates them from the pack. Because people like to have a go at the buffet after they are done with the grills.
Coming back to the grills Mushroom Tikkas were a hot favourite. The Tandoori Chicken was juicy, prawns were flavourful, and the Sriracha Chicken Lollypops were a drool worthy affair.
In the end, if you are only about the grill you are better off at the Pirates of the Grill or Bara-be-cue nation.
But if you are looking for experimental dishes and drinks, a massive buffet spread, and a grill to boot – A Grill Company will satiate your cravings for good food without burning a hole your pockets…it’s must visit.
