Eating out is all about the experience, themes, fun elements, surprises, drama and of course yumilicious treats! We explored a beautifully designed comic and super-hero themed casual restaurant perched on the second floor of the busy SDA market. What a Comic Show! promises to give you your fill of Superheros. What a comic show_ SDA market-food review- girls and the chef- nora - theplanetsocial- food blogger

I mean it when I say that. If you are going out to eat and being greeted by a nerdy menu is something of a rare event.

Many places still choose to use the rather boring menu format without a themed-item in sight! But we totally hit a jackpot with What A Comic Show! It is run by a beautiful couple who have put in every possible element of surprise right from the menu to decor to food to accessories making us feel like Superheros! What a Comic Show! has a seasonal menu as they change their menu every six months basis an interesting theme…so this season’s hot spread is a superhero theme which has a selection of Continental, Oriental and some elements of North Eastern dishes.

We loved the decor with comic book corners, wall art, colourful cushions and beautiful rush of colour & art in every part of this little outlet. The best thing about this place was the simplicity of owner couple – Bhopen Chingtham & Pooja Moirangthem who have designed and implemented every bit on their own. You can come here, plonk yourselves on the comfortable seats, put your damn mobile phone away…indulge in the comic memorabilia with characters, books, artefacts, bright fun table toppings and play board games…It has everything to keep you so engrossed that you almost forget to order your food.

After a long chat with this couple, we heard about their passion for comics and love for superhero characters as they wanted to create a place where people can relive their childhood memories …

of reading and experiencing their favourite fantasy characters like Archies, Phantom, Superman or for that matter Chacha Chaudhary, Pinky and much more…

The best time to visit this place is evenings when they have open mike events, some musical nights, Karaoke and rocking LIVE music. They have some really interesting drinks on their bar menu and you get good deals on beer and other hard drinks. Bring out the nerd in you as you sip into comic book inspired cocktails & mocktails. I enjoyed the names as much as the drinks –  Fantastic Four, Hammer of Thor, Phantom Punch and Iron Mans Electromagnet …bring it on baby!
